I agree with you, Apple should repair speaker under one year limited warranty, though I doubt they accept it.

Try Apple Authorized Service Provider as second opinion, they would accept your order.

If the coil gets heated and damaged the speaker membrane then it should be repaired under warranty, this is my understanding. Any kind of help for this issue would be helpful
