MacBook Mid 2010 MacBook7,1 A1342 upgrade memory to 8 GB

I have a Macbook: MacBook Mid 2010 MacBook7,1 A1342

Mac OS: High Sierra 10.13.6

Boot ROM: 68.0.0.0.0

SMC: 1.60f6

I want to install 8 GB of RAM.

I installed two PC3 10600 1333 4 GB modules (total 8 GB),when the MacBook is turned on, a periodic beep occurs.

What should I do to make 8 GB of RAM work on this macbook?

Maybe I need to update the EFI? If so, how do I do it? I found a link to EFI on the Internet, but Mac OS Lion is mentioned here (I have a High Sierra): MacBook (Mid 2010) EFI Firmware Update 2.1

MacTracker shows the maximum memory for a MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2010) as 16 GB (Actual), 4 GB (Apple).

Other World Computing shows the maximum memory as being 16 GB, too.

Usually when a Mac can take more memory than Apple lists in their specifications, you can install 2x as much (meaning, there's one extra address line). Here, you can install 4x as much (meaning, there are two).

I would second the recommendation to go with Crucial or OWC.
