Frozen on apple home application screen and unable to restart. Second phone.

Brand new phone. Last phone was garbaged because it was frozen on apple home app when I pulled down menu to turn off our lights. Now new phone is stuck on the same screen. Done all the restarts possible. When I plug it in to computer nothing happens either. So frustrated.

If you have an iPhone with Face ID capability then-

Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).

If you have an iPhone with a Fingerprint sensor (Home Button) then-

Try and Force restart your iPhone as shown below:

Press and hold both the volume down button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF).
