Is it safe for the battery to keep Standby Mode on most of the day; and all night?

My iphone 14 Pro Max sits by my desktop Mac most of the day when I'm not out; in Standby Mode; then all night on Standby mode by the bed for sleeping. Is this Safe for the Battery; as I've had my iphone X get a swollen battery multiple times because I kept it on a basic charging stand for most of the day. (non magsafe). I now have my iphone X not charging when it's sitting on it's daytime stand. What about the 14 Pro Max? Also were I to unplug my 14 from power while on magsafe; Standy Mode would not work.

i think he meant standby mode which is a feature in IOS 17 where, when you keep you phone on the side and connected to power it essentially turns into a sort of clock where it can show the time, your calendar, photos and other useful widgets.

i am also very curious regarding how bad it is for the battery to use standby mode while working at the desk and overnight as a bedside clock as well so hopefully opening up this discussion once again will provide other useful answers and feedback :)

Agreed that the OP was asking only about Standby mode. I really like Standby Mode and this is an important question. I haven't found any information other than someone saying it's "safe". It would be great to have some details about how battery charging works in Standby mode. Can optimized charging still work at night?

Probably you meant Low Power Mode when you said Standby Mode.

To turn Low Power Mode on or off, go to Settings > Battery. You can also turn Low Power Mode on and off from Control Center. Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls, then select Low Power Mode to add it to Control Center.

Use Low Power Mode to save battery life on your iPhone or iPad
