Friend’s activity not syncing

One of my friends’ activity stopped showing up on my sharing 2 days ago. We are not hidden from each other, we both have the latest version of the watch OS. He tried deleting me as a friend and adding me back. I have tried turning my watch and my phone off and on, and tried resetting my watch. No one else on my end is affected by this. Waiting to hear if anyone can see his activity besides me. Anyone else having this issue?


When he added me back as a friend, his activity showed back up as it was when he added me, but now it’s not updating and just reflecting his activity when he added me, and it’s been a few hours and it’s not updating again. It’s like there is a syncing issue. We have been friends on here for several years and this has never happened before.

There are a few steps you can take to try to resolve this issue. In addition to making sure that your Applw Watchs are up to date, we reocmmend making sure that your iPhones are up to date. You can learn how to create a backup and update iOS here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support


Also, if either of you have Low Power Mode enabled, turn it off and allow a few minutes for syncing. Low Power Mode can reduce or affect some features. You can learn more here: Use Low Power Mode to save battery life on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

I have spent about 2.5 hours on the phone with Apple about this. They said one thing they noticed was that the friend in question had 2 email addresses linked to their appleid. One of them is an iCloud and one is non-icloud. I only had their non-icloud so they told me to also add their iCloud to their contact and add them back. When I add them I see their activity as it was at that moment and then it doesn’t update anymore. They said it’s a known issue but I unfortunately have lost their data as we’ve had to remove each other.


they said if it happens to be a software issue it may be fixed with ios17. It’s very frustrating!!!

Both our phones and watches are up to date on OS. It’s been going on for 3 days so it’s not a low power mode issue.


I also have a few people whose activity was tracking all day yesterday but at midnight their activity from yesterday disappeared which has never happened before. Even still my one friend’s “no activity” looks different than the others that have disappeared. It seems to be something very glitchy with the latest watchOS update…..
