iPhone Constantly Switches to Silent Mode without Buttons
My iPhone 14 Plus running 16.6 (most current as of today) has been switching to "silent mode" since I bought it six months ago.
- The toggle switch on the side does not move - it goes to silent mode when the ringer toggle is on.
- The "change with buttons" option has always been turned off.
- The "do not disturb/focus" function is set up only for bedtime and is off during the day.
- Silent mode happens several times each day with no rhyme or reason. It sits at my desk in the same laid-flat position for hours at a time and often switches back to silent mode just minutes after I toggle the mode button back and forth to get it to ring audibly again. The number of occasions that the phone rings and does not ring when in the proper audible ringer mode is about 50/50.
- The silent mode function works as intended when it is physically switched to silent mode, so this is only happening when in ringer mode.
This phone serves as my primary business line, and I miss several calls and text messages throughout each day. I have tried turning it on and off, a hard reset, and other seemingly obvious tactics to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've attached a screenshot of my sound settings.
Thanks.
