IPhone 13 Pro Max - Overheat while recording video

We have a 13 Pro Max running iOS 16.02 and we use this for recording gardening videos. Any day when the temp is 65 degrees or more the phone will overheat while recording and shut down. Often times within 15-20 min. The phone is on a tripod without a case and always in the shade, yet the problem persists. We have been told that the 14PM will do the same thing. We have also reset the phone and restored from backup. The only solution we were given was to record in low resolutions (below 1080p). This isn’t an acceptable solution. Any other ideas??

Some activities such as charging or a lot of computational activity (e.g. video), generate heat. Some warmth is to be anticipated.* Read this article about keeping your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures - If your iPhone or iPad gets too hot or too cold - Apple Support

If you think there is a problem with a device, have Apple inspect it. Go to this page to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Apple Authorized Distributor (AAD) --> Find Locations

How to make a Genius Bar appointment
