...when I look in Library/Songs, it shows 8,928. I have quite a few meticulous playlists. Yet when I highlight 'all playlists,' and it shows me all the folders, I get 9,341.
Maybe some songs are in more than one folder, I think?

It is very likely that you do have the same song in multiple playlists.
Also check your setting when you open Apple Music at Music > Settings > Advanced > Add songs to Library when added to playlist. If this setting is shut off, you can add songs from the Apple Music subscription to a playlist without it showing up in your Library.

I don't subscribe to Apple Music. All songs have been manually put in playlists by me. If it's due to dupes, no problem then.
