I'm looking for help creating a system whereby a text to an iPhone number would sound and external bell ring over WiFi so that a big area could be alerted to a text received by that phone? Anybody got any ideas of potential solutions? Or maybe an external speaker that could remotely sound the text alert loudly over a wide area?

Welcome to Apple Support! I recommend having an external speaker system would be best as your iPhone. It plays all notification, alert and system sounds if you're plugged-in to a speaker or wirelessly connected. A Bluetooth speaker would work brilliantly, or you can use an adapter to plug into a sound system. Just make sure your ringer's off on your iPhone to get all the noises coming through.

The sound would need to be over multiple speakers over a wider area so Bluetooth wouldn't cover it and decent walls in the way although a good wifi network. Literally, if the phone is text I need the sound to be played on multiple speakers over a larger building. Sorry for not giving specific details the first time.
