iMessages and calls on watch doesn't show contact name, only the phone number

I recently completed the latest Watch upgrade, and now any calls or iMessages received from any of my contacts doesn't show the name, just the phone number. How can this be fixed?

I Watch IMessage only showing phone numbers and doesn’t show all contact cards Just noticed that when looking at messages on the IWatch it now only shows the persons number, ie not their name and contact photo. Also not sure if related when I look at the contact list on the Iwatch it stops at the letter R. I have tried the unpair re pair and hit the orange re sync data button all to no avail. Anyone got any other ideas?

Contact names not displaying on Apple Watch in Messages iPhone 11 + Apple Watch Series 4. Contact names are no longer displayed in Messages on Apple Watch; only telephone numbers. I've tried all reset sync data and restarting devices. Nothing works. Seems like this stopped working after last update. The only information in the Community was several years old. Any recent suggestions other than what is already on the forum in the Community?

I can only receive messages from my watch but not my phone When someone texts me I receive the notification but only on my watch and when I check messages on my phone I don’t see the message that they sent but when I check messages on my watch it shows?
