Is it possible to downgrade my macOS?

Since I updated to the new Ventura system, I've found the new settings menu to be overly complicated and nested. There are multiple layers of options inside each other, which makes it very confusing for us.

I'm wondering if there's a way to "downgrade" or somehow revert to the previous settings menu layout. The current one really sucks!

Why did Apple change a well-functional and easy-to-navigate menu that had been working flawlessly for years?

Apple owns macOS and will do whatever they please with it. Whether those changes are "crap" or not to you as a licensee is irrelevant to Apple, who by the way, is not here to see your comments.

None whatsoever. You are stuck with it in Ventura.

Most long time Mac users really REALLY dislike System Settings.

However, iPad and iPhone users find it comforting.

The iPhone is Apple's dominate product, and it is the gateway drug to Macs (before that it was iPods).

Apple is going to do everything it can to encourage iPhone and iPad users to also buy Macs, and if that means changing System Preferences to System Settings so those iPhone and iPad users are more comfortable, that is what Apple is going to do.

Those of us long time Mac users will adapt, with lots of grumbling 😖, until we memorize where everything is stored in System Setting, or we fad into the sunset 🌅

I understand Apple's efforts to create a cohesive ecosystem for its users, but as a dedicated Mac user, I feel that the "System Preferences" interface should be preserved on Mac computers to maintain the comfort and efficiency that long-term users like me have come to appreciate.

for me and my agency its a really bad change, since the new settings menu is really complicated, even with the search option.

my questions are:

Is there any app available to achieve this, or what do you think? Should I downgrade to Monterey? Is it even possible to downgrade to Monterey if my new Macs came with Ventura preinstalled? If so, how can I do it? Any ideas?

Apple is finding that more people are living off their mobile devices so are try trying to homogenize the system settings between all of its devices.

I don't use my iPhone like my wife, kids or grandkids do. They live on their iPhones or iPads. I just use my iPhone for calls, texts and listening to audiobooks (and to read emails but not reply to them). Yes, were dinosaurs I guess. 🦖🦕

What I don't like is that it feels like Apple is getting worse with every system update they release, especially for long-term users like us (the "dinosaurs"). The new system might be great for younger users, but it seems to exclude us. I'm 36 years old already, i used mac since 2006 and sometimes, I feel like a dinosaur in this Apple-tech world.

Apple used to be free and much easier and uncomplicated to use, but now it's becoming more and more like Windows. Every time I connect something via USB, I get asked if I should trust the connected device. And whenever I try to make changes, I'm prompted to add devices to a list, settings menu is getting confusingly unclear and its really annoying.

With every System-Update Apple reminds me of the complexities of Windows, which is why I switched to Apple back in the days - it used to be simpler and more straightforward.

I don't like the direction it's heading now. sad. hopefully they listen to us "Dinosaurs"!
