Can I get severe weather notifications on my Apple Watch?

I have the Weather App on my iPhone and Apple Watch. I live alone and am deaf. Notifications are turned on for the iPhone and have “watch face complications” turned on on my Watch for Current Location.” Will that do it, or is there something else I need to do?

Yes, you can receive severe weather notifications on your Apple Watch. Here are the steps to set it up:

1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.

2. Scroll down and tap on ‘Notifications’.

3. Scroll down to ‘Weather’ and select it, find ‘Mirror iPhone Alerts From’ and make sure it is toggled on.

This ensures that any alert from the Weather app on your iPhone, such as severe weather notifications, will also be sent to your Apple Watch.

Remember to set up ‘Prominent Haptic’ feedback on your Apple Watch. This feature pre-announces some alerts with a strong haptic to get your attention.

1. On your iPhone, open the Watch app.

2. Tap ‘Sounds & Haptics’.

3. Under ‘Haptics’, turn on ‘Prominent Haptic’.

Now, when a notification comes through, your Apple Watch will provide a more noticeable haptic feedback, which could be helpful for you.
