pairing cochlear Nucleus® 7 to MacBook Pro

This question has come up before (last time about a year ago) and the answer has always been "they don't pair." I love my Mac, but this is not an acceptable answer. Has anyone found a solution, or will I have to sell all of my families Apple products and go android.

I use my high-end Resound hearing aids with my iPhone. I can use The telephone (very specialized, App-like) feature where telephone audio is sent directly into my hearing Aids. With the National Public Radio 'Listen' App, I can listen to my local NPR radio station.

But generally the Resound iPhone app provides CONTROL, not sound. It allows me to change between settings optimized for All-around, Restaurant, outdoors, Music, or (when using power tools) to Mute.

Generally, my hearing aids are NOT able to pair with my Mac or with my iPhone other than the specialized Apps I mentioned. For TV use, I use an intermediary device -- the Resound TV streamer. I paired my hearing Aids with the TV streamer, and when needed, I adjust my hearing Aids input source (using the iPhone app) to use the Streamer as the Audio source.

I do not know a way to pair hearing aids with your computer, other than buying an additional TV streamer type device. TV streamer takes the Audio source as its input, and acts as your Bluetooth 'agent', allowing a device with which to pair, and remember that pairing when you need it.

All that said, My Mac does not have a lot worth listening to. So for me, I will not be obtaining another TV streamer just for my computer.

I have a very smart TV set. It can connect to my Mac using Airplay, and it allows sharing audio and video direct to the TV (at lower resolutions)

But as smart as that that smart TV is, it is NOT willing to pair with my Hearing Aids directly. When you put the TV in 'pair' mode, it wants to acquire and pair with a TV remote with a microphone for spoken commands.

There was no one articulating the way forward, so I had to blunder along the route that looked promising, and eventually, it all worked out. Once I took a chance and added the Resound TV Streamer, all is well. It does what I want it to do in a way that is not awkward.
