Glitching Notes on iPad Mini 6?

My school gave me an iPad mini 6th gen via a scholarship I won and a free Apple Pencil. It works well except for one instance - I am a creative writing major, so I was map-chaptering out my story on iCloud Notes. They were perfectly organized on the iPad. The next day, I go in, and I can't edit them, and they've been glitched to the point I couldn't use them at all. I want to access this note, and for some reason, it won't let me. It also is in a permanent sideways mode. When I tried to edit it so it was pre-glitch, it disappeared, and I had to go back in the cloud just to see the note.
