How do you slow down the memories reel- way to fast

In the most recent system versions it is not possible to slow the memory down. The options just allow us to change the number of photos in the Memory, to make it shorter or longer, but it does not not allow us to change the speed.

When I want to view a memory properly, I am switching from "film" to "Photos" and "All" and select the first photo to view it enlarged. Then I can swipe between all items manually and view them properly. The added bonus is, that I do not have to listen to the theme music.

1. Open Photos app.
2. Tap "For You".
3. Select a Memory.
4. Tap the (...) in the upper right corner and select Slideshow.
5. Tap the screen once the memory starts to play.
6. Select "Options" in the bottom right.
7. From this screen you can change the theme, music, select to repeat or slow down or speed up the slideshow.

You can no longer control the speed of the Memories, only the number of the photos shown, neither in Photos for Mac nor on the iPhone or iPad. As I wrote above, I am watching the Memories only by advancing the slideshow manually to have a chance to view the photos properly.

All answers so far on questions asking to slow down the slide transitions in the auto-generated photos ‘Memories’ slideshow are out of date in that there seems to be no option anywhere anymore to slow the slideshow down in the latest version as of July 2024. Does anyone have an up to date answer or is it now impossible to slow them down now? If this is true it is a backwards step??? If the option has moved, does anyone know where it has moved to?

It’s true that you can slow the slides down. I’m on an iPad. I mute the theme music and tap to bring up options and there’s a pause button in the lower right corner. I just keep my thumb on the pause button. I do like the memories when they pop up.

This change on controls for Memories is unacceptable. The rate of change is far too fast and you cannot slow it down ( even following the instructions in this string.) What is the reason for this change and are you going to listen to your customers and get it back or supply a reasonable solution?

Thus does not work! As other commenters have said, THERE IS NO “OPTIONS” BUTTON appearing!!

I tapped the memory once it started playing. THERE IS NO “OPTIONS” at the bottom of the screen. I can edit the title and a few other minor things- but my mother is elderly and the pictures go by too quickly. This is useless as it stands. Please send help.
