Changing Apple ID affecting photos
Will changing my Apple ID *removing my old one and making a new one* affect me loosing my photos and contacts?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities.
Your iCloud data, including photos and contacts, will be attached to the Apple ID that you use. If you sign in with a new Apple ID, existing data from a previous Apple ID would not automatically transfer over.
You may find a solution by downloading a copy of your iCloud data to transfer to your new Apple ID following these instructions: Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud.
