My Wi-Fi is stable 100% of the time. Does this happen with all Wi-Fi networks, or only your home network? Have you checked for interference→Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support?

Have you checked for range issues, remembering that 5GHz range is much shorter than 2.4 GHz range? As a check, use your phone within 30 feet of your router where your phone is in the same room with the router.

Have you tried different band settings in your router?

Have you tried resetting network settings?

Perhaps your router need firmware update.

If it is your own router you should do the firmware update yourself.

You can find it in the settings of the router, see the following Apple articles:

Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

  • Automatic firmware updates

 Set to Enabled

If possible, set your router to automatically install software and firmware updates as they become available. These updates can affect the security settings available to you, and they deliver other important improvements to the stability, performance, and security of your router.

If it is a router of your carrier, please contact your carrier.

  •  You need to sign in to your router.
  • The Wi-Fi network name, or SSID (service set identifier), is the name your network that has a password.

or If you have iOS 16 / iPadOS 16:

Go to -> Settings -> tap Wi-Fi -> tap on the hideen Password -> enter Passcode -> you will then see the Wi-Fi Password.

If they are On, turn Off Hotspot & VPN.

Bluetooth does not use ANY battery energy at all, unless you are connected to another device such as headphones. And even then it uses much less than Wi-Fi.

And you didn’t answer most of my other questions:

  • Do you have the problem with other networks, or only one?
  • Have you Reset Network Settings?
  • Have you reviewed the article on interference?

And one I missed, have you tried forgetting the network then reconnecting?

So there is no way to know if it is an interaction between your phone and your router, or a problem with your phone. Might you try one of the public Wi-Fi sites to find out? Even an Apple store? Terrible things will not happen if you use public Wi-Fi, as all communications to and from your phone are end-to-end encrypted.

Oh, and I’m 80. Age doesn’t matter.

I never use bluetooth (battery drains to fast) and i can see my router from my couch its like 4 meters (dont know that in feet, 12feet?) i have tried a lot. And its random only says cannot connect to network, thats it. And when manually try to connect, same message. Also tried my router settings, band, restart before i restart my phone and so on. I have no clue why, read my logs from the router (asus ax86u) nothing in there that indicates some sort of (connection) error. So can only come from the phone. It used to work well but every other update it seems to break some 5ghz thing

oh btw all my macbooks, ipads, and other wifi devices dont have this problem only our iphones (2)

you mean like my 2.4ghz and 5ghz then yes once one stops working they both stop working.

> Have you Reset Network Settings?

on my phone? Yes many times, also forget network and then make new connection

>Have you reviewed the article on >interference?

as far as i can test i have minimal interference, the usual. But it has worked, and then an update comes and its a gamble if it stays working or not.

like i said no other device in here has this problem only our iphones (both 12 one mini one pro)

if i could see a logfile from my phone that would be helpfull but i cant find that.

Yeah i might try a public one tommorow. Problem is i dont know when it happens it just stops randomly after weeks or days or hours. So if i test it tommorow its not surtain it will crash then.

and its not the bad things its my paranoia and networkbuilding background thats stopping me from using public. And times that i use it on holiday for xsample just to see who is open, you wouldnt believe how many ppl are not secure and you can just browse the laptops or phones.

(wife says you wouldnt say you are 80 (she is right)) :)

tnx for the advice btw i will see tommorow if it works or not or buy a new phone :)
