I am trying to use my MacBook to print something off my Epsom ET-2800. I can not get my computer to recognize my printer.

Please provide steps I can take to connect these two via internet. Thank you

Hi,

Do you mean connecting locally via Wi-Fi? Connecting via the Internet would require a different setup.

Do you have a Wi-Fi router connected to the Internet? If so, this router can be used locally (for example, for connections between printers, iPhones/iPads and Macs).

The Epson ET-2800 is listed in About AirPrint - Apple Support as a model supporting Apple's AirPrint technology, so additional apps should not be needed, provided that the printer and any iPhones/iPads are connected to the same network (Wi-Fi router).

Use AirPrint to print from your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

AirPrint works with macOS as well, allowing you to print from a Mac without having to install a driver. As with iPhones/iPads, the Macs must be connected to the same network as the printer.

Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

If all settings are OK, but AirPrint still does not work, you could try the following procedure in this order (do not forget the router):

Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printer, any iPhone/iPad, the Mac, and all other computers/devices. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printer. Wait a minute or two. Power on any iPhone/iPad and the Mac. Finally, power on all other computers/devices.

If AirPrint is not used with a Mac (for example, when the printer is directly connected by USB cable, or if extra functionality is required under certain circumstances), drivers from the printer manufacturer would be needed.
