Managing iPhone storage in third parties apps

I am not sure why this is happening, but is looks like it is happening more and more. Let me explain: I bought a dji drone. There is a quick share option which you can use to transfer the original file from the drones sd card to the iPhone or iPad using the DJI fly app. For some reason (even when the iPhone storage in settings shows I have About 180GB available space) the app says no storage available. This is a known problem (according to Apple users on dji forums since the end of last year) but still hasn’t been resolved.

At first I figured dji would resolve this issue and be done with the problem.

Then i noticed it happening again with the SoundCloud app. I pay for a membership so that I can download the songs and listen them offline. This app shows that I have almost no free storage available (again, the iPhone internal storage in settings shows I would have plenty).

Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?
