AirPod Pro ear tips

A brand new pair of AirPods Pro do come with three replacement ear tip (XS, S, & L), in addition to the ones (M) that are pre-installed. If I understand your post correctly, none of the replacement tips will fit onto the AirPods themselves ... correct?

If that is the case, did you purchase these AirPods new directly from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller?
