I am not able to get an app-specific password after I hit "Generate Password"
I need an app- specific password to access my calendar from iCloud on Alexa device and I am not getting the 16 digit number I need.

To generate an app specific password, use Chrome browser, or any other browser except Safari
I got the message "Log out and log in again using 2 factor authentication"
I tried to do it on Safari, and my account got locked! After spending some time unlocking it again, I tried again - wouldn't do it.
I eventually realized why - it's impossible in Safari to use 2 factor authentication because it always defaults to some saved cookies, or else to biometric authentication.
Go to
https://appleid.apple.com/ in Chrome - log in - it shows the 2 factor authentication field where you have to enter a 6 digit code - and from there on out it works.

If it were me, I would never have Alexa involved in anything related to passwords. Just call me paranoid ... I don't mind one bit.
