Apple TV TVOS 16.6 Plex bug

Since all my ATV's have updated to 16.6, Plex is unable to play any Video files over 1080p.

Any video at 4K resolution, has HDR etc will not play, and comes back with insufficient codecs to playback the source file.

However, on the same AppleTV using InFuse Pro I can play any file that will not play on the AppleTV!!

Also to check there was no weird Plex issue I tried the Plex App on my Nvidia Shield TV and all files played ba k perfectly!

Has anyone seen this issue?

Had this same issue. Deleting and reinstalling the app is the only thing that resolved it for me.

A bug isolated to a 3rd party app is the responsibility of the developer to fix. Make sure you get confirmation that this is being investigated by a rep from Plex. Good luck.

If the same persists after force quit and reinstall of the app then reach out to Plex so they can investigate the issue with the Apple TV version of their app.

Same issue here. Good luck getting any help from Plex Support. They are worthless.

BTW, This is totally a Plex issue, not Apple TV. The same movies that will NOT play in my Plex app WILL play in my Channels app.

I’ve already reached out to Plex on their forums. That’s assuming the issue isn’t on TVOS 16.6 which is very possible
