locked out of every word document I've ever made
Hi all! I am having a huge issue with Microsoft - I am a recent graduate (spring 2023). I was gone all summer and upon getting back and trying to open Microsoft word, every document I have ever made (including ones way before college, like from 2017) is locked and says I need to purchase Microsoft 365 to edit and create new ones. I have a Mac and have been using the word app that came with the Mac this whole time. I guess at some point it installed 365 through my school maybe? I never actively did anything but it did badger me with some new form of word sometimes. But anyway now it won't let me go back to just using word. I can't afford and don't want 365 as I literally only need word but I'm not sure how to do that now... would appreciate help as I cannot access my resume or write cover letters or anything! excel works fine so I am super confused about why word specifically is suddenly linked to 365 or something.
