my credit card is expiring and i want to updat it for my apple account.

thanks for responding. I think I figured it out since it’s the same card with the same number and just a different date and the four digit number on the front or back apparently the payment method just becomes the updated card automatically.
Are you adding a new account/card or just updating you old account/payment method? Is the card number the same?
