whenever this iphone 13 mini runs out of battery it takes days to charge it. it will be plugged in for hours and not turn on. I can plug it in to itunes and have the option to factory reset, but I don't want to factory reset everytime my phone dies. its less than 3 months old. is this a bug? or by design? literally the most frustrating thing to deal with

Perform a Forced Restart on the phone. Follow the instructions very carefully, as this is a bit tricky. You may need to repeat this several times.

There are only 2 possible results when you perform a Forced Restart:
1) The phone returns to normal operation.....or....
2) There is a hardware problem with the phone that will need attention at the Apple Store (make an appointment) or at an authorized Apple Service shop

It was a defect in the hardware on my iphone. After running diagnostics in itunes the iphone was sent to apple and they replaced it. The new one (also a 13 mini) does not have this problem. Thank you for the kind reply.
