Here are a few things you can try:

1. Force restart your iPhone

To force restart your iPhone without a homebutton, follow these steps:

• • • Press and quickly release the volume up button.
    • Press and quickly release the volume down button.
    • Press and hold the side button.
• When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.

2. Check for updates

It's important to update your device to the latest software, to update your device, click here.

3. Reset your Face-ID

You can try to reset your Face-ID, to do this follow these steps:

Go to settings

Open Face-ID and password

Scroll down, and tap on 'reset Face-ID'

Follow the onscreen steps

If this didn't help, then it's probably a hardware-issue, but please contact Apple Support for the official diagnostic.
