Two Factor Authentication

Everything I see says that I can turn off two factor authentication within two weeks via the confirmation email I received, but I never received a confirmation email, and I have no desire for this extra step since I often use my login at school where I can't access my phone and don't have time for it. I've double-checked my junk folder and deleted emails as well as my texts.

Do you have an older account where you had to deliberately turn on two factor authentication? If you have a new account it cannot be turned off so you won't receive an email.

If you set up a separate rescue email address, make sure it didn't go there instead.

Add or change a rescue [for most people called a notification address] email address

1. Sign in to appleid.apple.com.

2. Select Sign-In and Security.

3. Select Rescue Email. You might be asked to answer one or more security questions or enter your Apple ID password before you continue.

4. To add a rescue email address, select Add email. Then enter your rescue email address, then select Save changes. We send a verification to that address.

5. To change a rescue email address, enter the new address. We send a verification to that address.

6. Enter the verification code and click Continue.
