Wow. Most of my font menus in Pages, InDesign, Pixelmator, etc. Are fonts I will NEVER use. Back when Steve Jobs ran things we could turn them off or stop displaying them in the menus. Remember Suitcase? Not the best, but useful! I like being a global citizen, but gumming up my tools with things almost one one will ever use is so annoying. Any way to turn these off without breaking the system?
No, it's impossible. Before Ventura, most better third party font managers could disable most of the fonts installed by the OS. In Ventura, it can't be done at all.
Most already have, but Adobe is one notable holdout.
Apple has had the APIs to hide font not meant for your language/region since at least Catalina. The entire Affinity suite already hides them. Almost all apps I use also do.
About all you can do is send the vendor your thoughts and see what they do in response.
Maybe we need to get on developers to add this functionality to their Settings for fonts displayed...
