My camcorder HDR-HC9 is not supported by Final Cut Pro.

I have multiple Sony HD tapes. (Mini DV63) recorded on my Camcorder HDR-HC9. I want to upload some old clips to Final Cut Pro X on my Mac Book Pro (Retina 15 inch) My computer would not recognize the camera. I used the fire wire output converted to Thunderbolt 2 in order to make the connection. Come to find out that the HC9 is no longer supported. How can I upload? If I have to purchase an inexpensive camcorder for read only, it is Ok. Can you recommend a model that I can find on eBAY?

Apple say, as of July 2023, that DV and HDV camcorders are supported.

Might be worth trying" New Movie Recording" in QuickTime Player.

Is the FireWire to Thunderbolt 2 adaptor an Apple cable?

With FCPX open and cables attached see if playing tape encourages recognition.

Read "Use the built-in camera on your Mac" paragraph 2 for using external camera.
