  3. iCloud Backup Alternative: If you're concerned about local storage space, you can also consider using iCloud Backup, which stores your iPhone data in the cloud. This option allows you to manage your backups remotely and doesn't consume storage on your personal computer.
  4. External Storage: If you have access to external storage devices (external hard drives, network-attached storage, etc.), you can move the backup files to these devices to free up space on your computer.

It's a little bit more complicated than that. Apps themselves will not be backed up. If you have a Mac and are already syncing your photos through iCloud, they will not be part of the backup. The same would be true of files your syncing through iCloud.
