Finish Setting Up Cellular (eSIM)

I keep getting the following notices, which seems fraudulent. I receive almost daily notifications to update my cellular eSIM for Cricket (and I've never used Cricket in my life). And today, I received another notification to update my payment information. I'm the original owner - and I have AT&T. I've seen others in this community with a similar issue but not resolution.

Well, I followed the suggestion of another poster on this thread and clicked the link to set it up, I don't have any account with Cricket so was fairly sure they couldn't charge me for anything.

I should mention I am in the UK, after clicking it appeared in the Settings - Mobile Service section as an e sim and stayed on 'Activating', at this point I couldn't see anything on the e sim details to delete it.

I waited a short while and after a while it then gave me a system message saying activation failed.

I then clicked on the e sim again and this time an option in red was at the bottom to delete sim.

So I deleted it and so far no more system requests so hopefully that's it now.

I was getting really fed up with this so I decided to allow it to continue the setup with the mindset if successful I would worry about it after

Anyway after accepting it a esim number was installed I then got a failed set up message to contact provider

I then went into network settings and deleted the esim

No further issues and no pop up reminders to install ( 5 days in)

If one or more of the following 6 options are true then you can't choose None as a payment method then the Billing information is needed . The "None" option will not appear...

  1. If you have an unpaid balance or payment due
  2. If you have a subscription that automatically renews
  3. If you're using the iTunes Store or App Store for the first time
  4. If you are not in the country or region you’re creating an Apple ID for
  5. If you changed your country or region
  6. If you're a part of Family Sharing

Based on your country of residence and country you have selected under your Apple ID --> Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID - Apple ...

Have you a Debit/Credit card that is issued to you that is valid internationally and is from the same Country / Region as your Apple ID.

Know it here --> If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes ...

Check the following

  1. The payment method that you are adding is of the same country as that of App Store Country on your iPhone
  2. You have a valid payment plan debit/credit card from an authorised bank from the same country
  3. Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID - Apple Support
  4. Learn more about family purchases and payments.
  5. Please check if your Debit/Credit card is valid internationally

If you can't download, make purchases or update apps, including free apps, you need to update your payment method or add a new one. If you already verified that a payment method is available in your country or region and you're still having trouble, learn more.
