Album Cover in Playlist (at top) not updating

I have several playlists where the album artwork that appears at the top of the page is not updating. Each song and corresponding album within the playlist has been custom updated (I added) but artwork at top of playlist page is not updating. I have other playlists where it shows multiple album covers so they somehow updated but others haven't. How do I fix? Song artwork and album artwork is correct. Any help is appreciated.

BTW - I created a new playlist last night and the quad of first 4 songs albums covers appeared and were there until I migrated to a different screen and then back. When I came back they were there for an instant and then replaced with the pathetic Apple-supplied cover art. In addition when you look at existing playlists you will seen that the quad of album covers appear as an option in the edit function. This should be easy to fix I’d Apple gave a ****. They sure take our money for Apple Music.

This might be one of those occasions where it is worth trashing the artwork cache so that Music can rebuild it. The location is a hidden folder at ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.AMPArtworkAgent/Data/Documents where ~ is your user's home folder. With Music closed you would delete the Documents folder on that path, empty the trash, then launch Music. If all goes well it will rebuild your playlist thumbnails as they are supposed to be. Might be best to ensure you have a backup of this folder that you could restore in case that simply makes matters worse.

Absolutely devastated and just as upset as Yiaars. The playlists I create are an art form to me and I couldn’t be more disgusted by this change. Bring back the covers with the first four. ASAP. I’m beyond disappointed with this repulsive change. I almost destroyed my phone and went out to buy any street android upon discovering this 20 minutes ago. What the heck guys? I can see no legit or logical point to this utter nonsense.

The idea of creating a new playlist to recover the album art quad for

the playlist cover by creating a new one doesn’t work. However when I experimented with trying that I did notice that for a very brief instance when I hit done the quad with covers of the 1st 4 albums appeared, then was over ridden by the horrible generic canned ones some idiot at Apple thought were great. Terrible

update.

+1.

In addition the iTunes App used to suggest the new playlist name upon using the Cmd+Shift+N and doesn't do it any longer. Before, to create a new playlist it just took the keyboard shortcut and pressing "ok" and you were done - you had a new playlist with the automatically assigned name and the right artwork and now you have to do it all manually (I guess you can download artwork from the net and add it to songs but this would take ages...)

Just took up Itunes Match suscription so I could verbally request my Homepod to play anything from my library. Lo and behold once the uploading to the cloud has completed I find that a crud replacement of the 4-album cover artwork for any playlist has been made - a totally dull generic reddish square with the playlist name on it. Not only that but the playlist titles were altered - I numbered some of mine in the sequence Name01, Name02 etc. and the leading zero has now disappeared. Typical "Apple knows what you should have better than you do" arrogance. Restore the old arrangements ASAP Apple!!!
