my computer cannot find my Time Capsule - I get message to check server name or IP address

I have a 2TB Time Capsule which is plugged directly into my router but when I try and run Time Machine it cannot find the Time Capsule.

Time capsule help needed- unable to access HI, I am trying to help a friend who lost his wife recently. She used a 1TB A1355 Time capsule which was plugged into the router. It appears that she used this as her preferred wifi connection. He is not at all tech savvy (me only a little better) I am helping him to understanding everything, set up new passwords , locate accounts and documents. Sadly she did not use the legacy contact facility but most things are sorted now. However, the time capsule is evading us. I have tried to connect it to a Mac via the usb plug and it isn't showing up in finder. The exception is that it does appear in the list of wifi networks. Can anyone help us to work out how to access the hard drive ? Or is it faulty? Many thanks in advance.

SMBv2 support airport time capsule My Windows 11 computer cannot access the network drive on my Time Capsule, the error saying that it doesn't support SMBv1 anymore. Is there support for SMBv2?

OK. My base Station is Version 7.8.1. My 2014 iMac Is using Airport 6.3.9.. And my OS is Big Sur 11.7.7. Backups I configure the Time Capsule to run with the Normal Time Machine Backup of the iMac. The initial back up did occur, but updates to time machine on the Airport Time Capsule are not occurring. The error message I keep getting is Drive not Visible". When I go to Finder, I see the Network. I see the Extreme Time Capsule. I see the drive, I can send and receive data from the drive. But the Time machine won't trigger to save data to the Time Capsule. Any ideas? Connection is Direct Ethernet, Wifi turned off. When I turn wifi on, it makes no difference.

It means what it says. Does the TC appear in AirPort Utility? If it does not, it might as well not exist on your network. Try restarting it: unplug its power cord, wait an arbitrary a moment, plug it back in, let it start. Its LED should glow green after a minute or two.
