Too late to import from Panasonic PV-GS300?

I am using a firewire cable and Mac doesn't mount/see camera. Yes, this is old technology. The last question on this around here was 2008! That being said, crushed that I can't seem to access these old memories.

I am assuming that you are having to use at least 1 of a possible 2 adaptors to connect/extend the FireWire cable to your Mac.

A post only yesterday was asking what connectors were required. Link to that post below.

The link has other links within links with information that may be helpful , including details of the adaptors required depending on age of your Mac.You may well ,of course, be using these adaptors already.

In theory it should not be too late to import to your Mac but success varies from set-up to set-up and used to be almost fool-proof with Macs that had FireWire ports back in the day.

Things seem to have changed somewhat with new hardware and OS's and the need for adaptors.

Apple say that DV and HDV tape is still supported and indeed posts suggest that many are still able to import this format with up to date Macs and latest OS and adaptors.

Have a navigate through the links and see if anything helps. Also mentioned is capturing with QuickTime Player and a link for that also. Any questions, come back here.
