My daughter currently has free Apple Music with her Verizon plan. She is off to college and wants to use the music plus apple TV deal she can get. Question I have is if I cancel her music in Verizon will she lose all her playlists etc before she signs up for the deal? Can she sign up before I cancel in Verizon?

As long as she uses the same Apple ID and she switches immediately to the other plan, she won't lose her library or playlists. She should be able to sign up before you cancel the Verizon plan. If you're subscribed to Apple Music, Apple One, or another Apple subscription through Apple and your wireless carrier, cancel one of your subscriptions. You can cancel your subscription from Apple. Or you can cancel your subscription through your wireless carrier."

So spoke with Apple support. The advise I was given was to sign up for the Unidays education account. Then cancel with Verizon. Right after that go back and sign up through apple and it the playlists should stay. The person on the phone told me the playlist should stay for up to 3 days but do not delay.
