The Outlook app works quite well on a Mac. I would suggest you try that.

Better than what?
If you have an Exchange or Outlook.com account it may be more useful to use the Outlook App.
Otherwise, it would depend on what you are looking for in an email client. And whether or not the default Apple Mail app works for you or you need other features.
Sorry, I did not explain myself correctly. I use Outlook directly from the web instead of the app. Here is the thing. It is easier to add a signature or use other products like Zoom for my conferences and not use all Microsoft products. I am getting all these messages with the app asking me to use Team instead of Zoom.
Yesterday, for instance, I could not paste the meeting link using Outlook, and I was ending using my Gmail account to send out invitations for my meeting.
My husband uses Windows, and he never encountered any issues. I wonder if I have issues because I use Mac.

Microsoft will want to push their other apps, like Teams, however, it should not prevent you from pasting a Zoom link in an email.

It may be your calendar has that option turned on.
