Restoring iPod Classic 5g needs to use firewire

Help, today I bought an iPod Classic 5g from Tianguis (yes, I'm from Mexico) and wanted to delete all songs I erased the disk, but when restored it says that I need a firewire cable. I don't have any Firewire cable in my house and if I have it my Mac does not have a Firewire port

As far as I know a 5th generation iPod Classic uses USB to connect to your computer, not firewire. Where do you see a message stating that it requires firewire?

Did your iPod come with a cable for power? If so, does it have a USB plug at one end and the 30-pin connector (a wide plug) at the other end??

By the way, just so you know, this is a worldwide forum and the people who respond here may be from the other side of the world, so you may not see any replies for a few hours. I'm just finishing my breakfast as I type this to you.
