My MacBook Air’s screen is dim

2 years ago, my younger cousin accidentally spilled Pepsi on the table which reached through into my MacBook’s motherboard. Now, I can log in but I can barely see anything on the screen.

Dumb friends spilled alcohol on MacBook Air So, I had a few friends over for my birthday, and one of them accidentally spilled his drink all over the tray which I had on my ottoman, and that unfortunately had my MacBook Air on it too. I was drinking and didn’t see clearly what got where, just that there was a lot of liquid and I needed to act fast. After trying to dry it with paper towels (it was closed during the spill and then I opened it during the cleaning process). The screen came on for a bit, I left it to dry, and the screen turned off. I assumed the display was just timing out like usual, but the screen has not turned back on since. The keyboard lights up, but I cannot find any indication that the system is functioning otherwise. For now, I just have it upturned in a tent position while turned off. It’s a little sticky, which is worrying me. I just want to know what my next course of action should be, how soon it should be taken, and whether the $100 I have for the rest of the month should cover it. TLDR; broke college student spilled alcohol on her very important computer. Send help, and a free repairman possibly :,(

Lines and Grey area on Screen My mother closed her 2020 MacBook Air 13.3" (running Ventura 13.5.1) yesterday and opened it today with vertical black lines across the right side of the screen and grayed out area along the bottom of the screen. (See attached photo) After talking to her she did say that after closing the computer, she placed a book on top of the closed laptop to read the book. It wasn't dropped on the computer, just placed on the laptop. There is no visible damage to the screen (cracks or the like) Is this from damage to the connectors or a different hardware issue? Is this from a software issue or OS issue. Thanks for your help

2024 M3 MacBook Pro 14 in - vertical lines Opened my 7 month old MacBook Pro to find vertical lines down the left side of the screen. This is a well known issue -- there was a class-action suit about this for a previous version of MacBook. Is there a software fix? Will Apple cover this with the one-year warranty?

Canned soda is not just a liquid, it's a rather acidic one, and acidic liquids can easily cause damage internally.

Have Apple evaluate it hands-on.

See this guide on increasing the brightness. If that does not work, there is most likely micro damage to the motherboard and thus the display's ability to brighten may be affected.
