I can use airdrop on my iPhone to share files to my iMac, but I can't find them on my computer. The airdrop app doesn't have a choice of where to store and my extensions folder has airdrop connected for sharing. But where do the files go?

Officially, files AirDropped to a Mac are saved in your Downloads folder. See Use AirDrop on your Mac - Apple Support
That said, whenever I AirDrop a photo from my iPhone to my Mac, it shows up on my Desktop!
