didn't we used to backup to the cloud? If I buy a new mac book, will the guys in the store transfer the information from my old computer to my new one?

If I buy a new Mac Book, will the guys in the store transfer my data from my old to my new computer because I want to trade in my old Mac Book. The screen on my Mac book died after 1 1/2

iCloud is not and never has been a backup solution for Macs.

If your had enabled desktop and documents in iCloud, then your data should sync back down to the new machine when you sign into your iCloud account.


Apple can not transfer data from a non-working machine to your new one. They may be able to help you if it's possible to get into it with an external monitor attached if that's the only thing that's wrong with it.
