Need to Keep computer active for long virus scans

I used to be able to keep my MacBook Pro running for hours without interjection by using the Caffeine.app. Since purchasing the MacBook Air, I am unable to activate the software, probably because the app is no longer free, and the company ignores my launching an older version of the software.

How to I adjust the time used to keep the screen awake so that it doesn't abort my virus scans?

MacBook Air, macOS 13.5

There are no known viruses in the wild that can infect macOS.

In addition, the OS is contained in a read only partition.

3rd party antivirus software will do nothing but cause problems.

FYI: Amphetamine is much more flexible than Caffeine ever was and is free in the App Store.

Do not install third party anti virus apps. They use system resources while providing no benefit. And they may cause problems.

My ESET quarantine log has picked up 14 phishing expeditions this year plus a few Trojans, and more than twice that many from last year. Does Apple show a log of quarantined items somewhere on my computer? If it does, would it show the same infections? If so, then obviously a 3rd party's anti-virus software is not necessary.

Thanks for your rapid responses.
