Verifying update
My phone is stuck on “ verifying update” and I can’t switch it off or stop the alarm that is going since 8 this morning

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t turn on or is frozen
You may have to connect to your computer as indicated in the link above. That should also fix the "verifying update" issue as well.
