Factory Reset macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

Hi there i have

iMac 21.5 inch mid 2011

500 gb internal hard drive

Latest update to macOS High Sierra 10.13.6


it is going to a friend but i want to remove all my old accounts and data etc


will a factory reset do that or do i need to do a delete and then factory reset


then, how do i do a factory reset

iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13

I hace followed the instructions and now when trying to install a new Mac OS the process fails


i think it has told me it can not connect to install server


either way it cannot find a new source to install the mac os


can anyone help - i did follow the linik to get online here to ask - so the blank system can find wifi and allow me to do this
