Hi,
I am about to head off to college and I want to make my own purchases for apps and other digital things without charging my mom who is the family organizer. I also may end up buying things I don’t want my mom to see so it would be nice to have privacy. How can I use my own card on the same family?
Any idea on how to make that possible. This seems like an issue that should have been solved long ago.

Turn off purchase sharing and stop sharing a payment method
If you’re the family organiser and you want family members to pay for purchases themselves, turn off purchase sharing:
When purchase sharing is turned off, you’ll stop sharing your purchases and lose access to the purchases made by your other family members. However, you can continue to share subscriptions such as Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade, but everyone must use their own payment method for purchases.
