If your phone is entering SOS mode (Emergency Mode) without your intentional input, it could be due to a variety of factors. Here are a few possibilities and steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. **Accidental Activation:**

It's possible that the SOS mode is being activated accidentally. The combination of pressing the side button (or top button, depending on the model) and a volume button simultaneously can trigger the SOS mode. Make sure you're not inadvertently pressing these buttons.

2. **Faulty Buttons:**

If the physical buttons on your phone are malfunctioning, they could trigger actions unintentionally. Try to observe if the buttons feel sticky, overly sensitive, or not responsive.

3. **Software Glitch:**

Sometimes, software glitches can cause unintended actions. Ensure that your phone's operating system is up to date. If not, update to the latest version of iOS.

4. **Screen Protector or Case:**

If you're using a screen protector or case that puts pressure on the buttons, it could lead to accidental activations. Check if your accessories are affecting the buttons' sensitivity.

5. **Emergency SOS Settings:**

In the iPhone settings, there's an "Emergency SOS" feature that allows you to make an emergency call by pressing the side button repeatedly. Check your settings to see if this feature is enabled or if you've configured any shortcuts that might be activating it.

- Go to Settings > Emergency SOS and review the settings there.

6. **Physical Conditions:**

Extreme cold, wet hands, or other physical conditions could affect touch sensitivity and potentially trigger unintended actions.

7. **Do Not Disturb Mode:**

If your phone is set to automatically enable Do Not Disturb mode during certain hours, it could explain why you're seeing the SOS mode at specific times. Check your Do Not Disturb settings.

8. **Contact Apple Support:**

If you've tried the above steps and the issue persists, it might be a more complex hardware or software issue. Reach out to Apple Support for further assistance.

9. **Reset Settings:**

As a last resort, you can try resetting your iPhone's settings. This won't erase your data but will reset your preferences to default settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

Remember, if you're in a situation where your phone is repeatedly entering SOS mode and you're unable to resolve the issue, it's important to contact Apple Support or visit an Apple Store for professional assistance.
