Hello LondonE4,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you want to transfer a Word document from your macBook Air as a text message on your iPhone. We are happy to help.

While there is no specific way to transfer a Word document as a text on your iPhone, you can sync files using the steps here: Sync files from your Mac to iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  1. "Connect your device to your Mac.

You can connect your device using a USB or USB-C cable or using a Wi-Fi connection. See Sync content between your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch over Wi-Fi.

2. In the Finder  on your Mac, select the device in the Finder sidebar.

A device selected in the Finder sidebar.

If you connect your device to your Mac using a USB cable and don’t see the device in the Finder sidebar, see If your device doesn’t appear in the sidebar

3. Click Files in the button bar.

The button bar showing Files selected.

A list of the apps on your device that support file sharing appears.

4. Drag a file or selection of files from a Finder window onto an app name in the list.

The files are immediately transferred to the device and are available using the app.

5. Click the arrow  beside the app name to see files already transferred to your device.

The Numbers app in the Files window showing three files that have been synced to a device."

You can also use the steps here to transfer files between your iPhone and computer: Transfer files between your iPhone and your computer - Apple Support

"Transfer files between your iPhone and your computer

There are multiple ways to transfer your photos, videos, and other files between your iPhone and computer.

Important: Transferring, sharing, or syncing might be restricted for some types of data, such as files saved in an app’s proprietary format, files saved in older software versions, and files protected by copyrights."

These steps may help. Let us know if you have further questions.

Take care.
