itunes wont play samples of some songs

I’m using iTunes for windows and

this issue seems to have popped just lately and I wonder if apply has gone to new audio format causing the problem

Hello Mystery55,

To answer your main question, there hasn't been a change to the audio format for previewing songs. Since this only happens with some songs, it might be the connection to the store that houses the songs. Before previewing them again, close out of iTunes and start it again in Windows. If you haven't already, also update iTunes for Windows to rule out compatibility concerns: Update to the latest version of iTunes for Windows 10 - Apple Support

Thank you Mod_One, for the work you've been doing to try to get this issue resolved! I have windows & not an iPhone, so will try the work around on You Tube. Hopefully Apple will actually try to fix this. It seems to take them a while before they finally do repair anything on iTunes. Yes, I agree, they probably just want to have iTunes die a slow death.

I have quit buying songs from iTunes because of this issue. They won't miss me, but they don't seem to care about this problem for windows users, so......

also a mac same issue - here's a kicker, the samples have all played (so far) on my iPhone in the iTunes store app.

Same here makes me wonder if it’s windows related. Just bizarre and they say nothing nor seem to have any desire to fix it

Same issue here. On mac. Has been happening for the past 3 or 4 weeks. Sort it out Apple.

I get the same problem on my iMac which is running an older OS but not on my iPhone which has the newest update (IOS 17) So I'm wondering if its got something to do with that?

Works on my phone just fine as well. Problem seems to be iTunes and they have no interest in fixing
