Ethernet Doesn't Automatically Appear - iPad Pro 5th Generation

I purchased a Belkin USB-C to Ethernet + Charge Adapter for my iPad Pro 12.9 5th gen and ethernet doesn't automatically appear when I try to use the Belkin device. Wi-Fi is turned off. The Belkin device does provide power to the iPad so I'm not sure what's going on. Running iPad OS 16.6. Anyone have any ideas?

Start by ensuring that you've allowed access to the USB device:


"You can allow your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to always access accessories. For example, if you use a USB assistive device to enter your passcode on your locked iPhone, many assistive devices automatically turn on the setting to allow USB devices the first time they're connected.

If you don't connect to accessories regularly, you might need to turn on this setting manually.

In Settings, go to Face ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode, and turn on Accessories under Allow Access When Locked." Allow USB and other accessories to connect to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


If the issue continues, reach out to Belkin for support with their accessory: Contact Us - Belkin
