Pages app prints highlight color but not colored text
I just tried printing a document w/ the Pages app, however it only printed the highlighted background color, but not the colored text. What's up with that?

The Pages product team spoofed people with an Insert menu having the entry Highlight on it. That is not the industry accepted norm for applying color behind text. That feature is on the Show more text options selector on the Text panel:
And once you click that, you will discover an inkwell and color chooser icon for Text Background that applies the proper text highlight color. That background coloration will not appear until you click away from the selected text that you applied it too.
The Text Color selector on the main Text panel controls the foreground text color. The following will print on a properly configured color printer or export to other file formats:
