Adding music to iMovie

Does anyone have a workaround to be able to use music from your own apple library/playlists? Using iMovie for personal use.

Hi,

If you are talking about Apple Music the subscription service (as opposed to iTunes) there is no legal way to use Apple Music songs in iMovie. The songs are DRM protected. Also, because Apple Music is a subscription service one is only renting the songs, so to speak, and therefore cannot obtain ownership of them by downloading them to an app or to the Mac.

iTunes songs, however, can be used. Songs purchased through iTunes after year 2008 no longer carry DRM protection. To be used, the songs must be downloaded and not stored in the cloud.
